Kate Leece
  • This is Kate’s fourth year as part of the Myphysio Team
  • She completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Latrobe University and graduated in 2010
  • Kate has gained much experience in both public and private sectors and discovered her passion for musculoskeletal and sporting injuries

Achille Maiotti

Achille completed his Advanced Degree in Sport Science in Milan (Italy) in 2006 and graduated in the Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Physiotherapy at LaTrobe University in 2012.

He joined the MyPhysio team in 2013.

Achille’s interest is in the relationship between physiotherapy and exercise, which is often the step between short and long term management of an injury.

Achille has several years of experience as a swimming and lifeguard instructor and has worked in Italy in close collaboration with a Physiotherapy Private Practice in Milan, particularly focusing on hydrotherapy. He will be happy to provide you with a few hints on how improve your swimming skills during the hydrotherapy sessions offered by MyPhysio.

In addition to swimming Achille has done 16 years of professional fencing achieving results at international level.

Other qualifications/studies:

Sam Donaldson

Sam (or Sammy as he’s known at MyPhysio) completed his Masters in Physiotherapy Studies at the University of Queensland in 2013 following the prior completion of a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies, also at UQ. He is the resident Accredited Exercise Physiologist, allowing MyPhysio to expand its health care provisions.

Danielle Robertson

Danielle completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne and Bachelor of Exercise Science at Victoria University. Danielle understands and values the importance of combining an individualised exercise program with physiotherapy techniques to obtain the best results for each patient.

Special interests include:

  • Implementing unique personalised rehabilitation programs for both recovery and prevention of future injuries.
  • Women’s health and the role of the pelvic floor muscles.  Pre and post natal pregnancy classes.
  • The role of Clinical Pilates and core stabilisation in injury prevention.
  • Working with a vast range of age groups and athletic abilities to improve their overall quality of life.

Danielle’s other interests include running, Crossfit, and netball where she is currently involved in 3 teams.

Louis Glazebrook

Louis completed his Bachelor of physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University. Whilst completing his Bachelor Louis worked as a qualified personal trainer and a physiotherapy assistant which gave him a broad range of experience in managing the physical needs of a diverse range of clients. At MyPhysio Louis takes Tuesday morning hydrotherapy, as well as the Intermediate/Advanced RedCord and the Leg Strength exercise groups.

Special interests include:
-Teaching clients the safest, most efficient way to move and sit in their work environments.
-Working with high level athletes to improve their movement efficiently and athletic performance.
-Helping clients to become more actively involved in their healthcare to achieve their best possible outcome.
-Encouraging and teaching clients effective and attainable behaviors to manage their weight and home exercise program
-Has a special interest in CrossFit and Olympic lifting athletes, to see them perform at their optimal capacity.
-Working closely and touring with the African Wildlife Safari cycling team.

Katie Sandford

Katie completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia. During her degree, her passion for musculoskeletal and sport injures was reinforced through her work with the Tour Down Under, the Victorian indoor netball squad and other various sports. As a former competitive triathlete and swim teacher Katie has an appreciation of the demands of competition and sport on the body and how important a prompt return to personal hobbies is for each patient.


Special interests include:

  • Encouraging patients to actively contribute to their own recovery through the use of individualised exercise and home self management programs
  • Combining the latest evidence and individual patient circumstances to devise holistic treatments that will maximise each patient’s wellbeing
  • Utilising Pilates as an adjunct to treatment
  • Developing a broad knowledge base to maximise effectiveness of treatment across all age groups, occupations and athletic abilities.

Mr James Chiu (Orthopaedic Surgeon)

(sub-specialty interests in shoulder and knee sports reconstruction and arthroplasty)


Mr Chiu obtained his MBBS in 2001 and was awarded his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011.  He has further increased his expertise and competency in orthopaedic surgery with fellowships in North America and France, in the fields of orthopaedic sports medicine reconstruction, upper extremity reconstruction, arthroscopy and arthroplasty.  Providing excellent patient care and surgical outcomes is of the utmost importance to him.


Mr Chiu currently operates out of Epworth hospital in Richmond and can be seen at MyPhysio Evolution on Wednesday afternoon every fortnight.  You must obtain a referral from your GP to attend Mr Chiu.

Dr Duncan Walker (Sports Medicine Registrar)

  • After obtaining two degrees in Vancouver, Canada, completed his post graduate medicine degree in Adelaide and worked as a GP in both urban and rural communities prior to entering the sports physician speciality (ACSP)

Nadia Gargano (Myotherapist)
Completed an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy and Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2005 at The Victorian College of Healthcare.
